We’re so excited to have Osamah Sami with us for the Sydney screening of Ali’s Wedding on August 18 at Riverside Theatres. It will be a Gala event with the film’s cast joining us as well as a few special surprises on the night.

This hilarious Australian film is based on the real-life experience of lead actor and screenwriter Osamah Sami. After a white lie spirals out of control, a Muslim cleric’s eldest son must follow through with an arranged marriage, except he is madly in love with an Australian born Lebanese girl.

Joining us on opening night to introduce her debut film, MAHBAS, will be director Sophie Boutros thanks to Dubai International Film Festival.

MAHBAS is a romantic comedy about a protective Lebanese mother, Therese, who holds a decades-old grudge against Syrians, due to her brother’s passing caused by a Syrian bomb. As she prepares to meet her daughter’s future in-laws, she is horror-struck to discover that they are Syrian.

Screening in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Perth it’s sure to be an audience favourite.
