Meqdad graduated from Kuwait University with a BA in English literature. He has worked as a production assistant and assistant director on many TV commercials for Al-Watan Newspaper and TV channel.

Meqdad has written and directed a number of short films that have been screened in international festivals, including the short film Mufaraqat (Paradoxes) which was selected for the Dubai International Film Festival as part of the Gulf Voices section, and selected for the first Gulf Film Festival. His third film Banana won the Special Jury Prize at Gulf Film Festival 09, and was selected for the Dubai International Film Festival 2009.
