Basheer Al Majed was an actor in the long feature Ahlaam, which he received a Best Actor award at the Festival of Carthage in Tunisia in 2006. Personal Calendar is his first short film as director and has been screened in many international festivals. Basheer is a member of the Iraqi Journalists Union and a founding member of the Iraqi Cinema Group.
